All done

I am now in Zanzibar wondering where the last two months have gone! My time volunteering went by so fast. I haven't really had time to stop and think about all the things i have done as i have been so busy trying to arrange travel plans for the next few weeks. The painting went really well, it really is amazing what aesthetic changes can do to an environment. What was a depressing dark space is now so bright and cheerful. It was hard work and i am still covered in oil paint, but it was well worth it to see the children's faces, they were so shocked at first then they were just really happy. I had painted this little mural of flowers and stuff in the girls dorm on top of the green we had already done as a base and a group of them just sat on the bed staring at it and smiling telling me how happy i had made them it was soo cute. Oh my time is about to run out and i want to post this, i will write soon

Hi Laura,

I'm Ally's co-worker at International house vancouver, i'll be heading to kenya on the 28th of april for 6 months to volunteer in Nairobi with the "Global volunteer network". I was wondering if you have any advice or warnings for me. I'm very anxious and nervous at the same time and hope it will all be worthwhile.

Hi Sweetie,
Just spoke to you on the phone, and it was great to hear how happy you sounded. I have a mental picture of you now.. Camped out at the base of Mt. Kilamanjaro (is that how you spell it?) although I'm sure it's not very accurate as I'm picturing you in a tent with wild animals prowling all around.. and you could be staying in a house for all I know... probably should have asked you when I had the chance!Seb climbed Mt. Kilamanjaro last year, and he's training to climb Everest next year.. I think he'll be the first person with diabetes to climb Everest.. Crazy huh? Anyway I hope that you have fun climbing the mtn tomorrow.. Please be careful!
Love u lots.. miss u.. and I'll call for a proper chat when you get back to th UK... Jen :)
